Apple’s decision new iOS 11 to kill the 3.5mm headphone jack has, understandably, been very controversial. If you’ve already invested in a killer pair of headphones that rely on the standard port present in every phone up until now, you could be forgiven for being a bit pissed.

Delve deeper into your iPhone 7 box and you’ll not only find a pair of Lightning port toting EarPods but a tiny little dongle. This plugs into the Lightning port and gives you back that 3.5mm connection.
You could also use wireless headphones. There’s an adapter in the box with your iPhone 7, or you could consider snagging a Bluetooth adapter. Maybe it’s time to go wireless Bluetooth headphones.

CHARGE MY IPHONE 7 AND LISTEN TO MUSIC AT THE SAME TIME
This is a tricky one – if the Lightning port is being taken up by your headphones, how do you listen to tunes and charge at the same time?

Potential solutions to resolve it:
The first solution is of course to use those wireless buds. But there are other ways too.
Belkin is selling what it calls the ‘Rockstar’ which plugs into the Lightning port and gives you two Lightning connections in return.

You could also pick up one of Apple’s ludicrously pricey docks (£49.99), which have a 3.5mm jack on the back and charge your phone too.

Neither are perfect solutions, but they work.
